Christmas-time hike along the old-believers' village near Lake Peipsi

On the second Christmas Day, December 26, more than 30 people walked 7 km along the old-believers' street village from Mustvee to Kasepää


The hike route is part of a bicycle tour route developed with the support of Lakesperience project.
In addition to enjoying the wonderful winter weather, the hikers had possibility to take a look onto the sights they passed by. Eeva Kirsipuu-Vadi talked about Lake Peipsi and the history of the region, the development specialist of Mustvee rural municipality and local inhabitant Aive Tamme introduced the local life. The tour ended at an exhibition of Lake Peipsi, where, in addition to the exhibition, the hikers could drink the traditional Ivan-tea and bite the special Peipsi sugar aside.
The hike organized by Peipsi Center for Transboundary Cooperation and Peipsimaa Tourism was appriciated by 31 people and one dog.
