29 June 2021; Border sminar in Valga, focusing heritage tourism
Today Estonian and Latvian tourism experts and cross border tourism project managers gathered in Valga and in Zoom to discuss (post)- Covid situation for the border tourism. Military Heritage project was presented by Silja from Estonian Rural Tourism and newly printed project route maps were distributed. Also other Estonian-Latvia cross border cultural and natural heritage tourism routes were introduced and discussion was held on what would be possibilities to create synergies between them. The head on EstLat Program JTS stressed the need to gather those valuable project results and to focus to social innovation in the heritage projects in the new Programme period.
We finished the day with the guided tour to Valga/Valga twin town joint city centre and some people continued their way to one of the most famous Military Heritage related exhibition in South Estonia- Valga Military Theme park.
The event was organised jointly by Valga Municipality and Peipsi Center for Transboundary Cooperation
