Cross-Border Cooperation Summer School

Project aim:

The summer school is aimed to promote intersectoral and cross-border cooperation between high education institutions, NGOs and  local municipalities in Baltic Sea Region.

Project activities:

Summer school taks place in Tartu, South of Estonia from 13th to 17th of August 2012. All together around 20 people was selected on competitive basis, from Baltic and Scandinavian states and Russia from local authorities, NGOs, research institutes. Participants got theoretical knowledge about cross-border cooperation policies and also practical information about cooperation possibilities, funding, public participation etc.

10.30 Summing up the Summer School 2012




Main outcomes of the Summer School:


·         Participants of the summer school from border regions arere trained in order to promote establishment of cross-border networks according to the relevant European policies and practices.


·         Summer School enhances people-to-people contacts across the borders and decrease disinformation and negative prejudices about the cross border neighbours. Moreover it promoted trust and working relations between participants.


·         The main methods in summer school are group works, discussions and field visits. During the group work sessions new project ideas are developed for future cooperation. Elaboration of these projects will promote sustainability of created network.


·         Awareness of the participants is raised in the topics of public participation, fundraising possibilities for CBC activities, management of public relations etc.
